Millennials and Gen Z have different expectations and values from previous generations when it comes to work. This new career era is marked by a focus on work-life balance, flexible schedules, and the ability to work from home. The COVID-19 pandemic has also played a significant role in reshaping the way we view careers. People now prioritize mental and physical health, and they expect their employers to do the same. The era of the "mean girl corporate crap" is over, and Americans are demanding workplaces that amplify a culture of care and share their values. This means that companies that don't offer these benefits are likely to fall behind in attracting and retaining talent.


Social media and the internet have made it easier than ever to access information about companies and their practices, including their handling of mass layoffs. Millions of eyes on Tiktok watch Tech giants like Google and Twitter come under fire for their lack of empathy and disregard for their employees' well-being during these challenging times. Simply put, companies that don't prioritize social responsibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion are likely to struggle in attracting and retaining top talent.

Many are unable to achieve traditional life milestones such as buying a home or paying off student loans. In certain parts of the United States, one blue-collar job is not enough to make ends meet. Even individuals with college degrees are not able to accomplish these goals.
